Chapter: 1906
Kody, the leader of Bettie's kidnappers, was convinced he and his men could handle Lance, so he pretended as if he was going to rip off Bettie's clothes so that Lance would panic and rush in. That would give his men the opportunity to ambush Lance at the door.
Kody felt it was a sound plan, but what he failed to expect was Lance had beaten his men to a pulp.
Left with no choice, Kody decided to neutralize Lance himself and picked up the knife on the ground. Staring at Lance vigilantly, he threatened, "Hey, you better stop meddling in things that don't concern you!"
“Fuck off!" Lance was so furious that his eyes narrowed into slits.
"Who do you think you are? You lowly life!"
"How dare you! You are begging to be taught a lesson!" Kody couldn't stand the humiliation of being spoken to in this manner. He raised the knife high in the air and rushed at Lance.
Lance sidestepped and declared icily, "I don't mind fighting with you. But my advice? Stop being foolish. The policemen are on their way here. If those minds of you decide to sacrifice your freedom just to fight with me, I'll grant your wish.”
Kody's two men, who had just groggily got to their feet, looked at each other, feeling frightened. Lance had caught up with them so quickly, so the police must not be far behind.
Had they fulfilled the requests and raped Bettie before being arrested by the police, they would be imprisoned for several years.
Once they were released, they could live a good life with the money their client paid them.
But now, everything was messed up with Lance's timely arrival and his remarkable fighting skills. Bettie's kidnappers bitterly realized they wouldn't get a dime since they hadn't completed their job. So far, they hadn't done anything more than take Bettie away. If they got arrested on top of this, it would be another huge loss for them.
Kody's two men darted out instantly with one of them yelling to Kody, “Kody, let's leave. We got other chances to make money."
Humiliated and beaten, Kody grudgingly grasped the situation and felt the need to flee away without fighting Lance back. He glowered at Lance before catching up with his two men.
Lance wasted no time rushing forward and hugged Bettie tightly in his arms. His grip was strong and fierce as if he was afraid that she would disappear.
Now that Bettie was snug in his embrace, Lance could finally relax.
He closed his eyes, finally giving in to the fear plaguing him since he was informed she was kidnapped. “Fortunately... Fortunately, I'm not late."
“Waah..."
At Bettie's garbled sound, Lance realized Bettie's mouth was gagged.
He lifted his hand and untied the rag.
“Lance, I love you so much!" Bettie gasped the moment she could talk.
