Chapter: 1929
Hearing this, Bettie's heart raced as she was unable to recall a thing. "Did I spill any secrets?"

"No." Sabrina grinned. “You just serenaded him with some tunes."

"What songs?" Bettie's heart raced even faster.

"You Are My Sunshine."

"Anything else?"

"Good Times."

Bettie felt like pulling her hair out. "Did I sing more?"

"Lucky."

“Okay, let's change the subject," Bettie pleaded, feeling like she wanted to disappear at that moment. "Why on earth didn't you stop me?"

“I tried, but you insisted." Sabrina shrugged.

"I'm so done with life on this planet. Bye," Bettie joked, checking her phone. There it was, the thirty-seven-minute chat with Lance. She wondered what she could have blabbered about during those thirty-seven minutes. Would Lance think badly of her? Would he think her a gold digger? Or materialistic? She pondered whether she needed to clarify things.

Bettie opened her chat with Lance on Facebook and started to type a few words but then erased everything. Ah, forget it! It was better to just act clueless! As long as she didn't feel ashamed, it wasn't her problem.

Just then, an incoming call from Lance popped up on the screen, catching Bettie off guard. She took a deep breath and answered calmly, "Hey?"

"Are you back?" Lance's voice rumbled.

Bettie braced herself and played dumb. “Yeah, I just got in... Hey, how did you know I was outside?"

"You rang me."

“Really? I had a few drinks so my memory's fuzzy. If I talked nonsense, don't sweat it, okay?" Bettie fiddled with her fingers.

“Why would I? Weren't you just joking about selling the villa to keep a few toy boys and make me jealous? How could I ever take that seriously?"

Bettie's mind blanked.

Lance added, "Oh, and you mentioned your desire to check my mushroom and skills."
