Chapter: 1928
Sabrina's expression turned serious as she advised, "Bettie, I think it would be wise to consult a Lawyer about your situation. It's important to consider whether Lance has the legal grounds to reclaim the villa in the future. If he can't, then what he has done today could indicate sincerity."
Lance really showed his sincerity. He had gladly emptied his pockets.
Bettie nodded in agreement, acknowledging Sabrina's advice. “You're right. I'll ask right now."
After a few minutes, Bettie leaped up from the couch, exclaiming joyfully, “Oh my! I felt like I'm soaring. I'm rapturous!"
Sabrina observed her jubilant display and asked, “What did the Lawyer say? Does this mean Lance has no legal claim to the villa in the future? It's all yours now?"
Bettie nodded excitedly and rambled, "The lawyer confirmed this is considered a pre-marital gift. If we had signed a gift agreement with the intention of marriage, he could have reclaimed the villa. However, we didn't sign any agreement, and our marriage would only be a ceremony without official registration. Lance was aware of our plan for a fake marriage, yet he still gave me the villa, so he can't take it back! The house is officially mine! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
Bettie danced around the living room, laughing heartily.
Bettie's viewpoint transformed. She now found Lance's quiet departure in the past more tolerable, recognizing that it might have been crucial for him to amass such wealth and acquire a lavish villa for her.
"Wow, Bettie, you've struck it rich! That villa has got to be worth a hundred million. You have to treat me to a meal, right?"
"Absolutely! Pick any restaurant in Mathias. It's on me. I'm rich now!"
That night, Bettie and Sabrina splurged on a fancy dinner.
Bettie got carried away, having had too many drinks, which had turned her cheeks cherry-red and her mood sky-high.
On the ride home, Bettie nodded off, diving into dreamland.
“Huh? Are we back?" Bettie rubbed her eyes, yawning. “Sabrina, why aren't you moving?"
Sabrina chuckled. "How can I with you draped over me like an octopus?"
Bettie blushed, letting go of Sabrina.
In the elevator, Bettie asked, "I didn't do anything weird, did 1?"
“Nah," Sabrina reassured her.
“Phew." Bettie sighed with relief.
“Well, except that you rang Lance," Sabrina added.
