Chapter: 1932
Bettie was stunned. Mushrooms. Perfect. She couldn't face mushrooms anymore.
Sabrina, eyeing a baffled Bettie, asked, "So... Are we eating the mushrooms or not?"
"Uh... Nah..."
“Make up your mind."
"Just go with whatever." Bettie bolted out of the kitchen like Lightning.
Sabrina was puzzled, thinking Bettie was being weird.
That morning, Lance swung by to fetch Bettie for a visit to Bettie's parents’ house.
Upon Lance's call, Bettie trotted to the underground garage, seeking Lance's ride, yanking open the passenger door.
Almost instinctively, Bettie snuck a peek at his private part - the alleged mushroom stash - real subtle-like, then hopped in, shutting the door smoothly. “Let's roll," she said, cool as a cucumber, clicking her seatbelt.
“Sure thing." Lance fired up the car's engine.
Midway through, he blurted out, “It's hard to tell with clothes on, though."
With clothes on? What was Lance implying? Bettie was baffled.
Looking at Lance, Bettie scratched her head, asking, "What?"
Lance clammed up. He clutched the wheel tight, staring ahead, dead serious, like Bettie's confusion was all in her head.
Bettie, all tangled up in her thoughts, went back to Twitter, but then it hit her out of the blue, and she got it.
“Bit of a tease, huh? Subtly hinting at his private part." Bettie chuckled inwardly.
Bettie stole a glance at him and then shifted her eyes downward.
Feeling her gaze, Lance suddenly proposed, “Why not check it out yourself tonight if you're so curious?"
"Not interested." Bettie scoffed.
"Don't wanna see whether my skills have improved yourself?" Lance raised his eyebrows.
