Chapter: 1992
Sabrina caught his eye and, as Kaleb sneakily glanced at her bump, their gazes met briefly before darting away, a bit awkward, a lot unsaid.
They proceeded to board the plane.
After close to thirty hours in the air, the plane finally touched down at Philade International Airport.
Night had fallen and Jennie eagerly gazed out the plane window at the glowing scene of Philade.
The Wilsons had already arranged for a car to pick them up from the airport.
The chief editor, knowing Sabrina would land after dark, had sent an assistant to fetch her and even booked a hotel room.
Originally, Kaleb wanted Jennie to come straight home with him, but Tyrone thought it'd be better to get Sabrina settled in first, planning to bring Jennie over the next day.
They went with Tyrone's plan.
Kaleb, looking a bit miffed, shot a glance at Sabrina before climbing into his car alone. Just before he got in, he turned to Jennie with some hesitation. "Jennie, come by as soon as you can tomorrow. I'll be waiting."
“Alright. Goodbye!"
Upon entering the hotel room, Tyrone had Sabrina and Jennie kick back on the sofa while he unpacked Sabrina's stuff. He neatly sorted everything out and hung up some clothes in the closet. Then, he stashed the empty suitcase in a corner.
After a restless flight, Sabrina had a light snack and crashed for the night.
The next morning, the three of them had breakfast together before the chief editor scooped up Sabrina, and Tyrone personally escorted Jennie to the Wilson Estate.
Nestled in a suburban town, the estate sprawled over a massive area and boasted breathtaking views.
Stepping into this new spot, Jennie looked around with wide eyes.
The estate's staff, already briefed, warmly welcomed them into the main house.
Kaleb had ditched the office for the day, soaking up some sun on the terrace with his wife, Zandra, bright and early, eagerly anticipating their granddaughter's arrival. They felt like they'd been waiting forever.
Every now and then, Kaleb stole a glance at his watch.
Zandra, calm and composed, asked curiously, “Is Jennie really that adorable?"
Kaleb chuckled, brimming with confidence. “Zandra, let me tell you, Jennie's got a lot of your charm. She's smart and lovable. You'll adore her once you meet her!"
