Chapter: 1991
The flight got pushed back by half an hour.
Restless, Jennie got up and started pacing around the waiting area.
Kaleb figured he'd join her, suggesting, "Jennie, fancy a stroll outside?"
"Sure." Jennie shot Tyrone and Sabrina a quick nod before strolling around with Kaleb.
Tyrone plopped down next to Sabrina, grabbing her hand as he flipped through a magazine.
In no time, a guy popped up in front of Sabrina. "Ms. Chavez."
Looking up, Sabrina recognized the man as Kaleb's secretary who had tagged along earlier. After Kaleb left, this guy stuck around, leaving Sabrina wondering what was cooking. Curiosity got the better of her and she asked so.
Allen glanced over at Tyrone, Looking a tad uneasy, and blurted out, "Mr. Wilson's wondering if you'd switch seats with him on the flight. He's got a spot in business class and is willing to pay double the fare for the hassle."
Sabrina raised an eyebrow. Why did Kaleb send someone to chat her up, especially when he wasn't around? Why didn't he just ask her himself?
Was it because she was a formidable opponent to his daughter, and he couldn't handle it? That sneaky old fox.
Before Sabrina could say anything, Tyrone jumped in. “Let Mr. Wilson know it won't be happening. Sabrina's expecting."
First class meant more room and privacy, which was way comfier for moms—to-be.
Allen wasn't taken aback by the refusal. He had figured Sabrina wouldn't be up for it. He nodded. "Got it. I'll pass the word to Mr. Wilson."
“If he's set on switching, maybe he should ask other folks onboard,"
Tyrone added.
Allen spotted Kaleb browsing at a duty-free shop outside the lounge and passed on Tyrone's message.
Kaleb just sighed, accepting defeat.
“I guess that's off the table then." Kaleb thought to himself.
Not long after, Kaleb and Jennie came back.
Kaleb's poker face gave nothing away.
