Chapter: 1994
"Then I won't see you off," Kaleb responded.
“Goodbye, daddy." Jennie lifted her gaze, showing she didn't want Tyrone to go.
Tyrone softly patted her head, saying, “Be nice. If you feel uncomfortable here, just let me know, and I'll come get you."
Jennie gave a nod of agreement.
"Gotta go."
"Alright."
Then, Tyrone departed.
Zandra observed Jennie watching Tyrone walk away. To her, Jennie and Tyrone were just two unknown people.
At just five years old, Jennie showed no tears despite being left in this new place. Her maturity was apparent.
Zandra felt a surge of affection and stroked Jennie's hair.
Once Tyrone was gone, Kaleb took Jennie's hand and they headed upstairs. "Come with me, Jennie. Let me show you your room, and then we'll explore the manor."
"Alright." Jennie nodded in assent.
Her room was upstairs, airy and well-lit, adorned in pink with a large rabbit doll on the bed and some newly bought toys on the desk.
“Do you Like your room, Jennie?" Kaleb inquired.
With a smile, Jennie nodded.
This place would be her home for the next two weeks. The room's setup was perfectly adequate for her temporary stay.
Pleased, Kaleb remarked, “I'm glad you like it. We'll get your belongings organized. Then, I'll take you for a stroll around."
"Alright." Jennie settled into the manor life.
After a long day, Sabrina exited the magazine office building to spot a car flashing its lights, its driver's window descending to unveil a familiar face.
Sabrina got into the passenger seat and buckled up.
