Chapter: 1995
“How was your day? Been busy? Are you tired?" Tyrone set the car in motion.
"It was okay." Sabrina stretched her neck and then queried, "Did you drop off Jennie?"
"Yes."
“I thought you were already gone."
"I'm leaving tomorrow." Tyrone noticed Sabrina's uncertain look and inquired, "Something on your mind?"
"I've... I've got dinner plans with a friend," Sabrina said, stealing a glance at Tyrone.
Sabrina had called Bella earlier, who, knowing Sabrina was in town, had eagerly invited her out.
Tyrone's eyebrows lifted. Clearly, Sabrina hadn't included him in her dinner plans. "Which restaurant will it be? I can drive you there,” he offered, his lips tightening slightly.
Sabrina disclosed the restaurant's name and then looked at him, asking, "And what about you?"
"Me?" Tyrone, focusing on the road ahead, replied somewhat sadly, “I guess I'll head back to the hotel... Don't fret over me. No one cares about me anyway."
Sabrina was rendered speechless. She pursed her lips and shot a quick look at Tyrone. Just as she was about to speak, her phone rang. It was Bella, inquiring about her whereabouts.
Tyrone had anticipated some words of comfort from Sabrina, but she remained silent. As he caught a glimpse of her texting during a red light, his hopes waned.
Tyrone was frustrated. He gave a small cough.
After texting, Sabrina lifted her gaze to Tyrone and suggested, "You should get some rest once you're back at the hotel. The flight must have worn you out."
Tyrone tightened his lips. Was that all she had to say? He responded with a hint of detachment.
The rest of the drive was quiet.
Sabrina kept up her conversation with Bella, seemingly oblivious to the tension.
Tyrone could barely contain his irritation.
Soon, they arrived at the restaurant's entrance.
"We're here?" Sabrina, peering out the window to confirm the destination, said, "Thanks. I'll head in."
