Chapter: 2007
After they finished eating, Collen drove Sabrina back to her hotel.
During the drive, Sabrina couldn't help but wonder about Rita's true intentions.
Just before Sabrina could figure out what Rita was up to, she got a message from the editor-in-chief.
Originally, all the on-site photography was wrapped up. The only thing left was editing, which meant Sabrina could head home.
But the editor-in-chief needed her for a job, saying a finance magazine urgently needed a photographer for a quick interview session.
"I'm counting on you, Sabrina! You're the only one available! Don't stress. There's a reporter for the interview, and White will be there too. Just a few snaps is all we need."
Sabrina agreed.
The editor-in-chief was really grateful, sending her the details for the interview and the shoot location.
The shoot wasn't in a studio but at the interviewee's office, on the 15th floor of the Bill Building.
The person she'd be photographing was Kaleb Wilson, a big boss at a public company.
The name gave Sabrina a weird feeling. A quick Google search confirmed it. It was a small world indeed. It turned out the guy she was supposed to photograph was Kaleb, Jennie's granddad. What were the odds?
Sabrina's smile stiffened. Could she bail on this?
After breakfast, Sabrina met up with White and the rest of the crew downstairs at the magazine's office, and they all headed to the Bill Building together.
When they got there, the magazine's editor-in-chief, White, seemed surprised to see Sabrina waiting. Last time, Sabrina was a bit rude but Tyrone covered for her.
White decided that if Sabrina acted like that today and got on Kaleb's bad side, he'd never work with her again.
Once they got to the Bill Building, Kaleb's secretary greeted them with a smile and showed them to a lounge area, apologizing for Kaleb running a bit late.
“It's no problem," White said.
The secretary offered them coffee and then stepped out of the lounge in a hurry. She went to check with her colleague, asking, “Avril, did you remind Mr. Wilson about today's appointment?"
Kaleb had just returned from a trip to Zimbab and had been to the office only once to catch up on important matters before leaving again. To be noted, a delightful little girl returned with him.
Allen revealed the little girl was Kaleb's beloved granddaughter and all non-essential meetings had been canceled or rescheduled in the past few days.
