Chapter: 2008
But this magazine shoot had been on the calendar for a while and had already been postponed once because of scheduling issues. It couldn't be pushed back again.

Avril replied, “I reminded him yesterday. Hasn't he shown up yet?"

"No."

“I'll give him a call."

When Avril reached Kaleb, she could hear happy voices in the background, "Mr. Wilson, the interview team from the magazine is here. What time should we expect you?"

After a pause, Kaleb replied, "Oh, I totally forgot. Let's move it to tomorrow."

Kaleb was at the amusement park, having a blast with his adorable granddaughter.

Avril was stunned. “We can't postpone it again, or we'll miss the publication deadline."

Kaleb fell silent. He had already made a promise to an old friend, the magazine's editor-in-chief, and breaking that wasn't an option.

Even so, he wished he could push it to the next issue.

“Fine. I'm on my way to the office." Kaleb let out a heavy sigh, ended the call, and looked up.

Allen was with Jennie, who was riding the drop tower.

The ride plummeted and screams filled the air as the drop tower descended.

When it finally settled on the ground, Jennie stepped off, her legs still a little wobbly. She felt scared but also exhilarated.

Looking back, she saw Allen hunched over by a trash can, looking like he was about to be sick.

Kaleb stepped in, saying, “Jennie, I'm really sorry, but I need to get back to the office for a bit. Do you want to stay here with Allen?"

Allen, struggling to speak, just mumbled, "Ugh..." He was too sick to even say no.

Jennie noticed his condition and replied, “Allen's not feeling too well. I think I should go back too."

“Okay, come with me to the office and, once I'm done, we can come back and have more fun."

“How long will you be at work, grandpa?"
