Chapter: 2025
In the hospital ward, the atmosphere was thick with tension.
After Rita's departure, Sabrina turned to Brenton with a task. She wanted him to delve into Rose's background.
It wasn't that Sabrina suspected Kira. Rather, she thought someone from Keilani's circle, like Alice or another supporter, might be involved.
Brenton returned shortly, handing Sabrina a dossier filled with details on Rose's life and her basic social connections.
Sabrina flipped directly to the section outlining Rose's social network. Her eyes narrowed as the name "Kira" appeared on the page, causing her to press her lips together in a tight line.
Sabrina scrutinized the information again, confirming that the only link Rose had to her own circle was indeed Kira. So... Could it really be Kira?
Sabrina wrestled with the notion. She was aware that Kira harbored no fondness for her, primarily pushing for Tyrone to end their relationship. But escalate to attempted murder? That seemed a drastic leap. Had she inadvertently crossed Kira recently? Was it possible that Kira blamed her for the discord between herself and Tyrone that night?
Yet, Rose had confessed to her actions. Without evidence to suggest she was manipulated, the investigation would hit a dead end. These thoughts weighed on Sabrina as she recuperated in the hospital.
Once recovered, Sabrina flew back to Mathias.
Back in Philade, Brenton had briefed Tyrone on all the developments.
Alarmed by the close call Sabrina had faced, Tyrone arrived at the airport well ahead of time. As soon as he spotted her, he scanned her meticulously from head to toe, his tension only easing once he was assured she was unharmed.
"Thank God, at least you're safe." Tyrone breathed a sigh of relief as he took Sabrina's hand, his touch gentle yet filled with concern.
“Sabrina, you've been wronged. I'll make sure justice is served."
His expression grew stern, his gaze deepening with resolve. It was clear he was prepared to take serious action, and someone was going to face consequences.
Feeling the intensity of his grip, Sabrina squeezed his hand in an attempt to soothe him. “Calm down. Something doesn't feel right about this..."
Sabrina felt if Kira truly intended to harm her, why would she involve Rose, her close confidant? It seemed too direct, too obvious to point back to Kira as the orchestrator.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
Sabrina couldn't help but question the logic behind the attack.
"Maybe she did it on purpose?" Tyrone suggested, hinting at a potentially deeper strategy at play.
Sabrina was momentarily taken aback, struggling to find words.
