Chapter: 2032
Zandra was speechless for a moment and then continued. "Is that why he had the police in Mathias arrest Keilani?"

"Yes,"

Zandra was stunned. She frowned. “Idiot! Since you'd known about it, why didn't you stop him?"

"He won't listen to me now, and your brother is on his side. What can I do? We can't just take him back," Kaleb said to Zandra, feeling defeated.

Lance had matured. Kaleb would have been more content if Lance had grown up by his side.

From Kaleb's book, Lance proved to be a worthy successor, be it his presence for his sister's needs or the care for his mother, fulfilling Kaleb's expectations.

Once graduating from university, Lance started working in the family business. With his remarkable capabilities, he had gained a firm foothold and won over some key supporters. At Lance's admirable competence at such a young age, Kaleb found it hard to force Lance into doing anything against his wishes.

Lance, like an eagle that had learned to fly and hunt on its own, began showing signs of independence. He used business trips as a reason to travel frequently to and from Mathias.

Kaleb reluctantly accepted this, knowing Lance's activities around Mathias were for Bettie's sake.

At the mention of her brother, Zandra then recalled Royce sitting at the main table of Lance's wedding. She sighed and said, “Lance was never this reckless before. My brother was foolish to let him do whatever he wanted! I'm calling him back right now!"

Zandra couldn't fathom why Lance would come up with such a terrible plan just to marry Bettie, the girl he desired. He didn't dare to reveal his identity yet. However, eventually, the truth would emerge.

By that time, would Bettie forgive him easily?

Actually, Zandra didn't ask much from Lance's wife except for a harmonious relationship with Keilani. That was why she had considered pairing Lance with Alice.

It was just that Lance wasn't interested in Alice, so Zandra abandoned that idea.

If Bettie were just an ordinary girl from Mathias, Zandra would have been fine with it.

But Bettie held a deep grudge against Keilani. To be noted, it was a significant grudge. Even though it was all Kedilani's fault, it didn't change the situation.

It would be better if Bettie were forgiving. But the fear of sowing discord between Lance and Keilani if Bettie were vengeful haunted Zandra.

Having known Keilani's reckless nature and inability to clear up her own mess, Zandra was deadly concerned for Keilani, especially if she and Kaleb were gone. Without Lance's looking out for Keilani, Keilani could be easily manipulated. Thus, Zandra felt the need to meet Bettie.

Kaleb shook his head. “Lance simply won't come back just because you asked so."

Lance's attentiveness to Keilani and Zandra was based on the condition that they did not cross the line. Clearly, Bettie, his beloved girl since schooldays, was his line.
