Chapter: 2060
Bettie couldn't find words. Fine. Whatever it was, she was the only one enjoying it.
She shut her eyes, feeling a rush of emotions. In the end, she couldn't help but wonder why the toy had so many features.
Lance emerged from the bathroom with a damp towel.
Bettie realized his intention to clean her up. She stared at him in disbelief, struggling to form words. That was it? Was it all over?
Was her body really that unappealing? Why didn't he have sex with her? If he didn't desire her, then why did he lead her on?
Her frustration mounted as she thought it over. She scoffed. “Lance, if you don't like me, just say so. There's no need to play games!"
Lance hesitated before responding, “I don't dislike you."
“Stop pretending!"
Lance smiled helplessly, “I really don't. Bettie, if you don't believe me..."
He took her hand and placed it on his pants. Bettie jerked her hand away, startled.
"Now do you believe me?"
"Then why did you..."
Lance cast his gaze down. “I want our relationship to be solid before we take that step."
Bettie was left speechless once again. She wanted to question why their relationship wasn't stable enough. But, upon reflection, she realized that it truly wasn't. They hadn't even discussed getting back together. Their actions had just been impulsive. “When do you think our relationship will be stable?"
“Well... When you're truly ready to commit to me."
"I'm ready now." Bettie Looked Lance in the eye and spoke earnestly.
Lance's heart skipped a beat which made him forget what he had intended to say. She was still so innocent that he couldn't bring himself to tell her his true identity yet.
After a moment, Lance smiled calmly. “Not yet, but once you know everything... Bettie, I want you to understand that I love you deeply. No matter what, I'll always be by your side."
His words made Bettie shiver. “What's wrong, Lance? Are you... Are you leaving again? Is that man not letting you go?"
"Don't worry about it now. It's getting late. It's time to sleep."
