Chapter: 2099
"I thought you didn't want me anymore." Keilani's tears flew down her cheeks uncontrollably.
"How could I ever not want you?" Zandra's heart ached with every word.
“Lance said if I didn't listen to him, he'd throw me out of the house once you left..."
A flash of anger flickered in Zandra's eyes, but she maintained her composure. “Lance was just trying to scare you into behaving."
"Really?"
"Of course," Zandra said, though doubt gnawed at her heart.
Zandra had always hoped that after she and Kaleb left, Lance would continue to care for Keilani. But now, it seemed Lance's patience with Keilani was wearing thin.
Zandra felt she had been trying to make amends over the years. Did Lance not have any soft spot for Keilani at all? How could he be such an ice-cold person?
Back in Philade, Keilani became withdrawn, her eyes devoid of their usual sparkle.
Keilani stopped enjoying outings, spending her days holed up in her room, shutting herself away.
Unable to bear seeing Keilani continue like this, Zandra took the initiative to suggest a shopping trip.
The old Keilani would have jumped at this suggestion, but this time she declined, simply saying she wasn't up for it, no matter how hard Zandra persuaded.
Seeing her once lively daughter reduced to this state, Zandra was overwhelmed with guilt.
Kaleb suggested that Keilani should see a therapist.
Zandra agreed, but no matter how she pleaded, Keilani refused, insisting she wasn't sick.
Zandra felt both helpless and heartbroken.
A servant suggested, "Why not invite her friends over to keep her company? Maybe she will start feeling better."
After thinking it over, Zandra decided to invite Keilani's best friend, Alice.
As Keilani's accomplice, Alice had been detained for just fifteen days since she helped cover things up. Once released, she returned to Philade.
When Alice arrived at Wilson Estate, Zandra briefed her, hoping Alice could lift Keilani's spirits, and Alice agreed with a smile.
