After weeks of sending flowers, Lance finally had a chance to dine with Bettie during her time off.

Bettie remained quiet. It was a simple meal but Lance seemed content.

As his phone rang and Zandra's name was on the screen, Lance stepped into the corridor outside the chamber to answer.

Before he could speak, Zandra's voice, filled with anxiety and anger, came through. “Lance, you need to come back right away!"

“Mom, what's going on?" Lance asked, deep in thought. His mother seemed distressed. Was something wrong with his father?

“Just come back immediately! Are you ignoring my words now?"

It was the first time that Zandra had been so irritable and serious.

Lance frowned and asked, "What's going on? Tell me what happened."

“Your sister tried to kill herself by slitting her wrists! Do you understand now? Come home right away!" Zandra's voice was urgent.

Before Lance could ask anything else, Zandra ended the call abruptly.

Frowning, Lance stared at the phone screen.

“Did Keilani really try to kill herself?" Lance wondered aloud.

From Zandra's tone, Lance sensed she was blaming him. But Keilani had only been detained for a month. Could she really have attempted suicide?

Lance promptly called his friend in Philade, Christin, to verify the news. Christin confirmed it was true.

Lance's expression turned grave.

Once Lance returned to the chamber, he managed to regain his composure. After seeing Bettie off to the hotel, he booked the next available flight to Philade.

As Lance was getting ready to depart for Philade, Tyrone received an email from an unknown sender.

There was just one photo in the email.

Tyrone squinted as he looked at the woman in the photo. His expression turned serious, and he gripped the mouse tightly.

The photo showed a scene in a hospital's gynecology department. The woman in the photo held her pregnant belly with one hand and a medical document with the other whilst she chatted with a nurse.
