Chapter: 2102
Keilani was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Outside the emergency room, Zandra cried bitterly, on the verge of fainting, her strength drained. She couldn't stand steady and needed help from servants to sit on a bench.
Kaleb hurried in and comforted Zandra when he saw her distressed expression.
Zandra sobbed. “If it weren't for the timely intervention, I can't bear to think... Our daughter is only twenty-six. She almost... I'm so scared..."
"Don't worry. She'll be okay. I'll wait here. You should go back and rest."
"No, I have to stay here and wait for Keilani to come out," Zandra said with tears in her eyes.
Two hours later, the red light outside the emergency room was finally switched off.
The doctor emerged, removed his mask, wiped the sweat from his brow, and sighed heavily. “We managed to save the patient. She arrived just in time. If it had been any later, her life would've been at risk."
Tears filled Zandra's eyes once more. "Thank you, doctor. Thank you!"
"You're welcome."
Keilani was moved to a ward with a ventilator.
Seeing his daughter lying pale on the bed, Kaleb sighed. He had harbored suspicions about Keilani's condition, suspecting she was pretending. But now, he dismissed that thought.
Zandra wiped her tears frequently, her eyes red and swollen.
After spending a long time in the ward, Zandra finally composed herself. She took a deep breath and grabbed her phone. Dialing Lance's number, she looked up and noticed Kaleb watching her.
With a determined expression, Zandra said firmly, "Don't try to stop me this time. I need to ask him to return and explain why Keilani ended up like this. He's her brother! I'll never approve of his marriage!"
Zandra had once considered meeting Bettie, but now she vehemently opposed their union. Keilani's suicide attempt had shaken her deeply.
What would happen if Bettie showed up in front of Keilani as Lance's wife?
Kaleb made no attempt to intervene.
Keilani lay on the bed, her smile fading swiftly, unnoticed by anyone.
When Zandra called, Lance was having dinner with Bettie.
