Chapter: 1012
Bennett seemed to have a sixth sense when it came to her well-being.
Whenever something was off, his first thought was always her; whether she was doing okay or if she was feeling happy.
Moved by his unwavering dedication to her, Claudia couldn't help but grip his hand tighter.
"Bennett, you're amazing!"
"What's got you singing my praises all of a sudden?" he asked, visibly confused.
Claudia turned her eyes toward him.
"You always seem to zero in on the heart of the issue. That's incredible."
Just moments ago, she'd been almost ensnared by Kayla's manipulations.
ALL she could think about was how she couldn't give Kayla what she wanted.
Bennett smirked and countered, “You figured it out as well, didn't you, Claudia?"
Claudia could read between the lines, and her cheeks flushed with warmth.
Bennett was simply remarkable.
He not only deciphered Kayla's ulterior motives but also understood her own thoughts.
Feeling embarrassed, Claudia shifted the conversation.
"So, I've got this part-time gig today."
“And what's the gig?"
“Mathews has a friend who's going to drop an album. And I'm going to play the piano for it," she said.
Blinking her eyes, she added, "I've got to earn my keep, you know."
She wanted to buy something for him as well.
He smiled when he heard her response.
"You don't need to. Honestly, if you're okay with it, I'd rather have you use the supplementary card that I gave you," said Bennett.
Claudia felt embarrassed thinking about the bank card he had given her and said, "It's not the same."
“What's the difference? We're legally married. Half of what I earn is yours," he countered.
She couldn't imagine that half of his wealth now belonged to her.
