Chapter: 1025
Luckily for him, things didn't come to that.

Claudia had shed tears moments ago, but they had already dried up, leaving her face slightly stained and uncomfortable.

Now that Jace was awake and looking at her, she didn't want to stay in that state, so she quickly made an excuse to head to the bathroom to freshen up.

She splashed cold water on her face, grateful for the fact that her father woke up.

Claudia gazed at her reflection in the mirror, and then she shut her eyes as she took deep breaths to calm herself. When she opened her eyes, she noticed that the redness in her eyes had significantly faded.

Before leaving the bathroom, she forced a brave smile to appear positive for her father.

As she emerged from the bathroom, Claudia saw Bennett, who had just returned from buying porridge. The two men were engaged in conversation. She made her way over to join them.

Jace was in low spirits and exhausted. He fell asleep again after only half an hour.

Elmo was reluctant to return to the Marshall family's villa. He wanted to stay by Jace's side.

Claudia wanted to keep a round-the-clock vigil at her father's bedside. But after hearing what Elmo said, she had to go home with Bennett first and come to visit him tomorrow.

Before departing, she asked Elmo for Jace's phone and quickly input the password.

She located the last phone number and copied it down.

“Elmo, please don't tell my father about this," Claudia whispered.

In all her 25 years, Claudia had never seen her father that furious about something that would cause him to suffer from a heart attack.

After witnessing Jace collapse before him, Elmo was more than willing to help Claudia in any way he could.

While Jace was on the phone, he became more livid with the person on the other end. His face had turned a deep shade of red, and then he had a heart attack and collapsed on the floor.

As the Marshall family's butler for many years, Elmo had only seen Jace this angry on two previous occasions.

When someone slandered Claudia's mother with rumors, and when Anthony fled from his wedding to Claudia. Tonight marked the third time that Jace had been this furious.

Elmo also wanted to know who had provoked Jace to such an extent on the phone.

After placing the phone on the table, Claudia turned to Bennett.

“Let's head back."

Nodding, Bennett took her by the hand.

“Elmo, thank you for your help."

“Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on Mr. Marshall. Please take care on your way back!"
