Chapter: 1026
“Thank you, Elmo," Claudia said gratefully.
“It's my duty," Elmo replied with a slight bow.
By the time Claudia and Bennett left the ward, it was one in the morning.
As they stepped out, they found the September night in Rarc had turned noticeably colder.
Taking notice of the chill, Bennett removed his coat and gently draped it around Claudia's shoulders.
Claudia glanced at him and said softly, “Thank you, Bennett."
She felt very grateful that he was with her tonight.
"Claudia, you don't need to thank me. He smiled and squeezed her palm.
With a smile on her face, Claudia climbed into the car.
As they drove, she pulled out the phone number she had just wrote down and examined it closely.
"This looks like a virtual number," she muttered, her brow furrowing in concern.
Bennett had already assumed that would be the case.
"The person who had called Jace must have malicious intentions, given how angry Jace had become. It was likely that the caller was afraid of being discovered and had used a fake phone number to avoid detection."
"Then what can we do?" Claudia agreed with Bennett's assessment.
Even if she asked Jace, she knew that her father wouldn't want to trouble her with such matters, and he wouldn't reveal what had happened.
"It's alright. The fact that your father got so angry and fainted means that the other party failed to achieve their goal. They will likely contact him again. Stay with him these days, and the person will call again."
After pondering for a moment, he added, "If you don't mind, I can ask Jackson to investigate."
Claudia glanced at him.
"Of course not."
It was for the good of her father!
The road was clear, and they arrived back at the villa quickly.
As they got out of the car, Claudia dashed around the front of the vehicle and threw herself into Bennett's arms, hugging him tightly.
She felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards him.
“Bennett, it's so good to have you," she said, her voice filled with emotion.
