Chapter: 1031
Jace smiled fondly at the sight of the excitement on his daughter's face.
“I don't want to let you down, but unfortunately, they won't be working here."
That disappointed Claudia a little, but she still felt elated.
“Anyway, I'm glad that Uncle will be working here from now on. I can't wait to see them."
Suddenly, Jaced sighed.
“Your uncle will try to get even with the Nixon family after he comes back."
Claudia's eyes widened a little.
Claudia hesitated briefly. Jace's words reminded her of Anthony, whom she had nearly forgotten.
When Anthony ran away from their wedding, her uncle and aunt-in-law had been livid. They were keen on her older cousin returning to handle the matter.
Not wanting her cousins dragged into the chaos, Claudia had pulled out all stops, convincing her aunt-in-law and uncle she could tackle it on her own.
They were in Taras at the time, far away from the unfolding drama.
She had sweet-talked them with charm and determination, assuring them she'd handle things. Reluctantly, they had agreed.
Now, as they prepared to return, they were set on confronting the Nixon family.
Yet, resolving this intricate situation might prove to be quite challenging.
With a hint of uncertainty, Claudia inquired, "It won't be too complicated, will it?"
Jace looked at her and said, "You're well aware that your uncle and aunt-in-law cherish you greatly."
Reflecting on her aunt-in-law's nature, Claudia felt Jace hit the mark.
“To be honest, what happened between Anthony and me is in the past.”
Now that she and Bennett had a happy marriage, she didn't want to dwell on what Anthony had done.
If they began dissecting all those old issues, it'd become too much to handle.
Jace added, "Bennett will still need to meet your uncle's expectations."
Claudia's cheeks turned red as she asked, "He will, won't he?"
Her uncle and aunt-in-law had always hoped for a daughter, but destiny gave them two boys.
To them, Claudia, their only niece, was more treasured than their own sons.
