Chapter: 1048
He couldn't quite understand what had happened last night. He had intended to console her, but it ultimately led to them having sex.
He wasn't the type of person who sought out sex eagerly. Over the years, many women had tried to seduce him, but he had never acted impulsively.
Forget it. He didn't want to dwell on it anymore. Since it had already happened, there was no use in overthinking it.
Yet, for some odd reason, he felt oddly consumed by different emotions. While he tried to distract himself at the traffic light, the image of Aurora's hand on his abs flashed in his mind.
With a quick motion, Breck shielded his eyes and chuckled.
Aurora was quite bold.
The moment Aurora stepped inside the elevator, her phone buzzed.
She took a look at it and found that it was Breck who transferred money to her bank account.
The amount? A hefty three hundred thousand.
There was also a text message from him. Aurora's eyebrows shot up in surprise, and she chose not to accept the money.
What happened last night was obviously consensual sex. It would seem that she had an impure purpose if she received the money.
Aurora put away her phone and the elevator reached her floor shortly after.
Taking a moment to calm down, she inhaled deeply.
Never mind. She'd be better off not dwelling on it. She'd rather focus on how to keep her job!
The challenge now was to think of a reason for her splashing a glass of wine on the client the previous evening.
With these thoughts swirling, she made her way to the office.
Claudia exhaled deeply upon seeing Aurora's text. Had she not received a reply, she would've driven over to check on things herself.
She gave Aurora's message on Line another glance, her eyebrows arching in surprise.
It was odd.
Since when did Aurora start speaking so little?
A nagging feeling told Claudia something was amiss, though she couldn't pinpoint what.
Putting her phone away, she decided to visit Jace at the hospital.
The hospital seemed busier than usual on this Friday. Finding a parking spot proved to be quite a chore for Claudia.
Admittedly, she wasn't well-acquainted with the hospital's parking structure. After wandering a bit, she managed to find the exit.
