Chapter: 112
As the car made a sharp turn, Claudia instinctively attempted to sit up, only to be abruptly jolted back by the driver slamming on the brakes once more.
Claudia couldn't help but think that the driver was an awful driver! Consequently, she found herself falling back into Bennett's arms once again.
Bennett's hand curved protectively around her shoulder, shielding her from jolting against the seat.
The driver immediately apologized, “Mr. Dreskin, Mrs. Dreskin, my apologies. A vehicle came out of nowhere..."
“It's fine. Carry on driving,"
Bennett responded, his baritone echoing from above Claudia. Blushing fiercely, Claudia straightened up, stammering, "I'm... I'm sorry."
Are you alright? Any injuries?" “No, I'm okay." Claudia dismissed his concern. She had landed in his arms. How could she be injured?
As soon as Claudia finished speaking, she blushed. She Lifted her head and found herself staring at Bennett's face, which was mere inches away from hers. She was taken aback.
The light from the car window cast a shimmering glow on his face, making him even more captivating.
“Why are your cheeks so flushed?"
His face came closer, his nose nearly grazing hers.
Bennett's gaze was fixed on Claudia. “Umm?”
His breath brushed against her face, jolting her back to reality and turning her cheeks even hotter.
Swiftly turning her face away, she gently nudged Bennett aside, fanning herself. "Perhaps the car's a bit stuffy.”
With a casual glance, Bennett leaned back. "Alright, then I'll ask the driver to cool the car down a bit."
He then raised his head and said, "Allan, please lower the temperature of the air conditioner."
Caught off guard, Claudia, clad in a sleeveless dress, was left speechless.
The driver responded respectfully, "Yes, sir
In no time, the AC's temperature was dropped. Within five minutes, Claudia began to shiver.
Having claimed to feel warm earlier, she couldn't now admit to being cold without revealing her lie.
Claudia had no choice but to close her eyes and feign sleep. @ Shortly after, she was enveloped in the warmth of a coat.
Upon opening her eyes, she found Bennett's gaze on her.
