Chapter: 1123
"I'm already home. My friend took me back."
“Have you taken a shower and changed your clothes?"
Claudia nodded instinctively before recalling that he couldn't see her.
“Yes. I just finished taking a shower, and Marcia is making some ginger tea for me."
“Okay. You should have it and keep yourself warm. Let me know if you feel any discomfort, okay?"
"I will."
Claudia was about to ask if it was raining on his side too, but she heard someone call him on the background of the phone and said instead, "You should get back to work. I'll go and have my ginger tea now."
"Okay," he said but didn't hang up.
After about two seconds in silence, Claudia said, "I'll hang up then."
"Okay. Hang up."
Worried that she might be delaying his work, Claudia didn't continue with their affectionate conversation.
"Goodbye," she said and hung up.
Her hair was wet and dripping with water. So, she walked back to the bathroom to dry her hair.
Ten minutes later, she went downstairs with her phone in hand.
Marcia had already prepared the ginger tea and set it on the dining table.
It was only around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, but the heavy rain outside made the atmosphere look dark, as though it was already evening.
Claudia sat at the dining table and slowly sipped the ginger tea.
Marcia came in and asked, "Madam, what do you want for dinner?"
Claudia had just finished a bowl of ginger tea and felt quite sated.
She looked up at Marcia and sighed.
"What about something with a broth? I'm not sure what I want."
“How about I make some chicken broth for you. Is that okay?"
“Sure, why not?" Claudia wasn't picky with food.
After a while, she yawned out of tiredness. She stood up and went back to the bedroom.
