Chapter: 1124
The rain was still pouring heavily, creating a rhythmic sound as it hit the windows.

The room's curtains were still open, leaving the interior of the room dimly lit.

She remembered that she had just added Xavier on Line, but hadn't given him a name. She reached for her phone, opened Line and clicked on his profile to do that.

However, in her haste, she accidentally sent an emoji to him. In a split second after realizing her error, she deleted it.

Just as soon, a message popped up.

"I saw it.”

Embarrassed, Claudia replied, “It was an error. A slip of the finger."

“The emoji was nice. Can you send it back? I'd like to save it."

Claudia looked at the message he sent with a quirked eyebrow. She had never gotten such a request before.

However strange it seemed to be, she still complied and sent the emoji.

Looking at the emoji on the phone, Xavier smiled.

When he was about to respond, he received another message from Claudia.

"I won't bother you anymore."

He hesitated for a few seconds, then chose to delete what he had typed, opting for a simple "Okay."

He stared at the phone screen for a while, contemplating, then he clicked on Claudia's Facebook page.

There was only one post visible, and it was from the previous month.

The post included a photograph that seemed to have been taken casually during Claudia's concert performance abroad around two weeks ago. The caption with the photo was short and consisted of only one word: work.

The page lacked posts and pictures. Her account was minimal, with no trace of personal information or activity. It was clear that Claudia wasn't an active social media user.

It was still raining. The car pulled up at the curb, and the driver looked back at Xavier.

“Sir, we've arrived."

Raising his head, Xavier glanced out the window. The car was parked at the company's entrance.

“Call. the secretary and have them pick him up," he said as he stepped out of the vehicle.

It was a novel experience for Xavier to meet someone who kept their distance. Claudia's aloofness and mysterious demeanor intrigued him and piqued his curiosity.

After sending the message, Claudia set her phone aside and took a nap. Being on her period and the soothing sound of the raindrops gently tapping on her window outside left her feeling tired, and she soon fell into a deep and peaceful slumber.
