Chapter: 1136
Had Bennett been with the woman he loved, Claudia realized she might never have become his wife.
The warmth in his expression when he reminisced about that lady made Claudia a little depressed.
Pushing her emotions aside, she inhaled deeply and tried to not care.
“I'm not sure."
“How can you be unsure?"
Claudia's eyebrows knitted in confusion. How could he be uncertain about how they didn't end up together?
Was he kidding her?
Perhaps they had a history together, a connection that had faded with time. He chose not to bring it up, perhaps to spare her any discomfort, didn't he?
Rather than explaining, Bennett merely offered a soft smile.
"Did you ever discuss it with her?" Claudia asked, her voice revealing a touch of restraint.
He paused, contemplating, then admitted, “Some questions are hard to ask."
“Why 2"
It was such a pity.
“She's married now."
“hat ?"
It was indeed not easy to ask her about it.
A burst of relief washed over Claudia, and her lips curled into a smile. Realizing she might come off as too gleeful, she quickly masked her grin with a look of sympathy.
"That's unfortunate."
Bennett looked at her and said, "She didn't just marry. She's also moved on from me."
"Huh!"
It was truly a shame!
A little unsure of what to respond with, Claudia just bit her Lip.
To think Bennett's first love would end this way!
He gently gave her shoulder a comforting pat and inquired, “Does discussing this make you feel upset?"
