Chapter: 1137
“Not at all. Why would it?"
She prided herself on not being a narrow-minded person.
Well, she had to admit she was a little narrow-minded just now!
Nervously, Claudia turned her eyes to the screen and saw the two words "Jace Marshall". Her attention was immediately shifted to the surgery.
Bennett checked the time. They had waited for over 40 minutes already.
They both remained silent, patiently waiting.
Time ticked on, an hour passed by, and Claudia's worry grew palpable.
“It's been an hour," she said, glancing at Bennett.
"Stay calm. Even if they estimated an hour, surgeries can sometimes take longer."
She nodded, eyes fixated on the screen. The status of Jace's surgery was unchanged.
After ten more tense minutes, the display finally updated, showing Jace's surgery was complete.
A wave of relief swept over Claudia, and she beamed at Bennett.
"Dad's surgery is done. We should head to his room."
"Alright," Bennett answered. The two of them stood up and made their way towards Jace's room.
On the way there, she was still a little worried.
When Claudia and Bennett arrived at the ward, the nurse just came out of Jace's ward.
Lying in the bed, Jace's lips appeared slightly pale, yet he was in a good mental state.
Though his incision wasn't extensive, it was on his chest, requiring him to remain bedridden for a day or two. Considering his recent surgery, the doctor advised he get ample rest.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
Claudia only felt completely relieved when she saw that Jace was fine.
"I'll head home with Bennett, Dad. You rest up."
Jace had already contemplated asking Claudia to leave, and she offered before he even had to.
Bennett, having rushed back earlier, missed his lunch. Knowing the surgery was successful and things were under control, Jace didn't want the younger pair staying in his room.
“Look after yourself, Dad. Call me if you need anything.”
