Chapter: 1139
“You..
She yawned as soon as she opened her mouth.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, she quickly covered her mouth. Once the yawn passed, she asked, “Want to take a nap for a while?"
Gently caressing her face, Bennett replied, “I'm good. You should rest."
Claudia was indeed sleepy. She had tried to nap earlier in the hospital's waiting area, nestled against Bennett. But concern for her father had kept sleep at bay.
"Alright, I'll nap for a bit then."
"Go ahead."
Once Claudia finished her water, Bennett took the glass, suggesting, “Time for sleep."
She looked at the glass he held, gave a brief smile, and headed upstairs.
Evening was drawing near. Dinner was just about an hour away.
Afraid of insomnia at night, Claudia set the alarm clock and planned to have a rest for half an hour before getting up.
Monday brought rain, and the past couple of days had been a bit chilly.
It was astounding how quickly days pass by. The initial ten days of October had already whisked by, marking over five months since she met Bennett.
Thinking randomly, Claudia fell asleep unconsciously.
She even had a dream.
Claudia had an incredibly odd dream. She dreamed that she was Bennett's first love.
In the dream, they were sitting on the wall of an old house, and Bennett was opening up to her about his mother.
He said he didn't understand why his mother was so cruel as to erase all the memories between them.
Bennett also shared his bewilderment over his father's decision to marry another woman just three years after his mother's passing, despite his father's deep love for her.
He told her about his brother, who was only five years younger than him. He said it was impossible for him to accept his father's betrayal of his mother.
The sound of the alarm jolted Claudia awake from her dream.
She opened her eyes and gazed up at the ceiling, still feeling the remnants of her dream.
Overcome with emotion, she unconsciously put her hand over her heart, which was beating fast.
It took a moment for her to realize that it had all been a dream.
