Chapter: 1138
Before leaving, Claudia pulled Elmo aside and said, “Over the next couple of days, don't let any visitors see Dad. Turn them away at the door without him knowing."
“I've got it. Go home and relax with your husband. I'll ensure your father's well-being."
Having known Elmo's dedication to the Marshall family for years, Claudia trusted him implicitly.
She nodded and said, “Thanks. Reach out if you're unsure about anything."
"Okay."
After speaking with Elmo, Claudia's gaze met Bennett's.
Bennett turned to Jace, saying, “Dad, rest up. Cece and I will head home."
“Okay, okay. Take care. You can leave now."
Claudia glanced at her father's phone, contemplating mentioning something, but decided against it.
She left the ward with Bennett.
“Do you think that person will try calling Dad now?"
She knew it was a rhetorical question; how could Bennett possibly predict that?
“Unless that person is a fool, they wouldn't do this at this moment."
After a moment's thought, Claudia agreed.
Regardless of that person's intentions, they clearly targeted her father.
But if they upset her father, there was nothing for them to gain.
With that thought, Claudia's concerns eased.
They took a cab home from the hospital.
Marcia greeted them with surprise.
"Back so soon?"
Claudia gave a warm smile.
“Marcia, how about some soup tonight? I want to have some."
“Of course, I'll get started right away."
Bennett passed the glass to Claudia, and as she took a sip of water she was about to ask him if he wanted to rest for a while.
