“What were you thinking about?" she asked, her voice filled with empathy as she tilted her head and gazed at him.

Bennett sighed.

“I'm wondering why people are so greedy."

Since his father had chosen his other son, why did his father still want his care? He was too greedy.

Meeting his gaze, Claudia pursed her lips.

“Perhaps it's just human nature. I'm greedy as well."

Her response surprised Bennett as he looked at her.

She smiled and added, "I always want you to love me a little more."

Bennett stared at Claudia blankly for a while before snapping out of it and smiling.

The next instant, he had his arms around her.

“You can be greedier."

Claudia, who was intending to pacify him, was caught off guard by his response.

Greedier?

What was he talking about?

She could not understand.

Upon seeing the look of confusion on her face, Bennett made no attempt to explain what his words meant.

Time flew by, and it was finally time for Claudia to begin her part-time job.

Claudia was not doubting the man whom Mathews introduced to her.

However, Joann became concerned for her safety after the man gave her a non-public address and insisted on accompanying her.

Claudia's Maserati stopped in front of the villa. After double-checking the house plate number attached to the gate, she exited the vehicle.

She was about to ring the doorbell, but Joann quickly stopped her and said, “Let me do it."

Claudia smiled at her helplessly and took a step back.

Joann then raised her hand and rang the doorbell. Shortly after, the owner of the house answered the intercom and let them in.

Claudia and Joann exchanged glances. The latter could not help but remark, "This person is quite rude. We are guests, so he should greet us at the entrance."
