Chapter: 1199
Their relationship had begun in a rather mysterious way. After a little over a month, Aurora felt it was time to end things.
She understood, from years within her social circles, the significance of matching with someone of a similar background.
Claudia and Bennett's marriage harmony seemed too challenging to replicate.
She wasn't Claudia, and Breck was certainly not Bennett.
So, it was unrealistic to expect they could follow in Claudia and Bennett's footsteps. Ending it was the right move for both of them.
Despite their argument and breakup, Claudia felt that it might ultimately help her get back on track.
It was a red light in front of her. When she stopped the car, Claudia found that Aurora was in a daze. She couldn't help but ask, “Aurora, what's on your mind?"
Upon hearing this, Aurora snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head. "Oh, it's nothing. I was just pondering some challenging issues I encountered in my last project."
"But you said you finished it, right?"
"Absolutely, it's already completed. No more thinking over it,"
Aurora responded. "It's been ages, well, a month since we last caught up. And you're looking lovelier by the day. Tut-tut, people with the nourishment of love are just different."
In the past, Claudia would have certainly argued back, but now she felt incredibly uneasy. When she heard Aurora mention “nourishment,” it triggered memories of what had occurred the night before yesterday.
The two of them had their own unspeakable thoughts, and neither of them noticed anything wrong with each other.
They simply drove to the restaurant without discussing it further.
Aurora had made the restaurant reservation, explaining that it was a newly opened place with a lovely name.
The restaurant wasn't hard to find, even though it wasn't situated downtown but rather nestled along a road on the outskirts.
Across the road, there was an apartment complex with a lot of parking spaces. Claudia decided to park the car in one of those spots next to the basketball court, right opposite the restaurant.
The October noon sun was shining brightly that day.
Finishing her bubble tea, Aurora clicked off her seatbelt and stepped out of the vehicle.
Claudia exited too, looking at her phone's map to confirm the restaurant's exact location.
The map revealed their destination to be on the road's right-hand side.
Tucking her phone away, Claudia shot a glance at Aurora. “We need to cross over, Aurora."
“I'm aware. I've been here before," Aurora blurted out.
“Was it for a company dinner event?" Claudia inquired.
