Chapter: 1257
Jackson let out a sigh of relief upon seeing Bennett, starting to say, "Mr. Dreskin, this document—"

"Just leave it on my desk."

Jackson nodded without further question. "Yes, Mr. Dreskin."

"What's the latest offer we've got?"

Jackson reported a figure, but Bennett's expression conveyed clear dissatisfaction.

He raised his eyebrows coldly and said, “Get Baylor Schultz and the others up here."

Remembering Claudia was in the office, Jackson hesitated.

His hesitation made Bennett unhappy. "Is there a problem, Jackson?"

His voice was so cold that no one could hear any emotions from it.

Jackson's heart skipped a beat. "I'll call them up immediately."

Bennett remained silent and entered the elevator expressionlessly.

Jackson stepped in after him, the atmosphere was too depressing to breathe.

Fortunately, the elevator ride was short, and they soon reached the 25th floor. Jackson pressed the button to open the doors, watched Bennett leave the elevator with quick steps, then pressed the button again to close the doors and head downstairs to call the others.

Opening his office door with a scowl, Bennett's anger was immediately interrupted by an unexpected hug.

“Surprise!”

The familiar scent of orange flowers wafted up from below, softening his cold expression and eyes.

Instinctively, he embraced her, looking down at Claudia nestled in his arms.

He asked, "When did you get here?"

Claudia tilted her head and said, "I just got here. Why do you look so upset? Have I disturbed your work?"

With one arm, Bennett secured Claudia, and with the other, he shut the heavy door behind them.

“No, I just finished my work."

From her spot in his embrace, Claudia couldn't see what he was doing behind her.

"Are you sure? You don't seem like it."

Her sentence was cut off as Bennett suddenly hoisted her up by her legs.
