Chapter: 1280
The moment she reached the study, a message from Aurora popped up.

“Thanks, baby. I'll treat you to dinner as soon as I get my salary!"

Claudia replied with a grin, "Can't wait! When do you start work at Veecci?"

Aurora was free at the moment and responded promptly, “I handed in my resignation letter last week. I can officially leave my current job around November 20th. The start date I arranged with Veecci is November 25th, and I'm planning to take a few days to rest.”

Claudia replied, "That's great! You really should take a good rest for a few days. You've been putting in overtime recently!"

Aurora didn't dare to continue the conversation with Claudia. She responded, “Okay, I'm heading to work," and then closed the chat box with Claudia.

Accidentally, Aurora clicked on the chat box with Breck, catching her a little off guard. She hastily closed it.

After two seconds of hesitation, she couldn't resist clicking on it again and sent a message to the person on the other end. “I've changed my job."

The moment the message was sent, Breck replied within a second, "Where will you work?"

The instant Aurora sent the word "Veecci" to him, Breck quickly responded, "Are you free this weekend? I'll treat you to a meal to celebrate your new job!"

“No, that's alright. I..." Aurora hesitated after typing those words and quickly tapped on the backspace. After a moment of contemplation, she finally sent a simple “Okay” to him.

It was better to make things clear face to face.

After sending "OK" to her, Breck didn't reply. Sitting there with her phone, Aurora felt somewhat absent-minded.

She felt a little annoyed. The situation between her and Breck seemed to be slipping out of control.

But now it was starting to seem like she was the only one among the both of them who was out of control.

Aurora was well aware of the gap between her family and the Santos family, so she wouldn't dare to challenge it.

Moreover, Breck had made it clear to her from the beginning.

When it all began, she had the final say and she could have put an end to all of it before it got out of hand. But she hadn't.

People had to admit defeat in a bet.

And she had admitted her defeat.

An adult had to be wise enough to get rid of trouble before it was too late.

So she had to make it clear to him.

The weekends arrived swiftly, ushering in Saturday morning, where Claudia woke up with the sun, early and ready for the day.

The alarm clock didn't ring yet, and Bennett was not in the bedroom.
