Chapter: 1292
November draped the sky in clear autumn hues, the air crisp-a perfect setting for a ride.
Without hesitation, Claudia nodded. "Absolutely!"
Glimpsing the excitement in her eyes, Bennett smiled faintly. "Shall we go now?"
"Aren't you going home to change?"
Glancing at her attire, he admitted, “You're right."
Flushed with embarrassment, Claudia followed his lead.
As they descended the stairs, Claudia spotted Aurora.
A mild surprise struck her. She tugged Bennett's hand and whispered, “It's Aurora."
Bennett glanced over and suggested, “Shall we greet her?"
He saw not only Aurora, but also Breck.
“Well, it seems they're having lunch together!" Claudia looked up at him and suggested, “Let's greet them and ask about their plans this afternoon. Maybe we can ride together."
The more, the merrier, and riding with Aurora presented a new experience.
Bennett was somewhat surprised that she was unfazed by Breck and Aurora having lunch together. Nevertheless, he assented, guiding her towards them.
“Aurora! Breck!"
Aurora's hand trembled at the familiar voice, momentarily rattling her cup.
Regaining composure, she looked up at Claudia, astonished. "What a coincidence! Are you here for lunch as well?"
Claudia affirmed, "Yes, we hoped to invite Xavier for lunch. What a surprise to find you here!"
Reassured by Claudia's lack of suspicion, Aurora breathed a sigh of relief and explained, “Just wrapped up work today. Bumped into Breck as I left the office, so we decided to grab Lunch together."
Claudia's doubts were dispelled. "Isn't that a coincidence? Any plans this afternoon?"
“No plans for me, but I'm not sure about Breck." Aurora glanced at Breck.
At that moment, Bennett cast a fleeting glance at Breck.
Feeling a bit uneasy, Breck brushed his nose and said, “What's there to do? I just happened to cross paths with Aurora."
Excited by their responses, Claudia asked, "We're heading to the racetrack this afternoon. Would you like to join us?"
Aurora readily agreed. With Breck's agreement, they arranged to rendezvous at the racecourse by three o'clock.
