Chapter: 1324
Embarrassment tinged Claudia's expression as she realized Bennett was captivated by her thoughtful gestures, readily agreeing with everything she uttered.

She took a bite, finding the cake not unpleasant, yet it lacked the exceptional deliciousness she had hoped for.

But it was too sweet for Bennett.

"I'll bake an even more delicious one next year."

Bennett just nodded in response. “Okay.”

He then lowered his head to savor the remaining cake in his hand.

Staying awake until this moment proved challenging for Claudia as a cascade of yawns began to surface.

As she spoke, her head lowered intermittently, revealing her weariness. Bennett, unable to bear the sight, gently placed his gift aside, approaching her. “It's late, honey. Time to retire for the night."

Suddenly, he lifted her up, prompting Claudia to snap back to reality.

"Ah, but it's your birthday. I wanted to celebrate it with you until midnight."

"I'm feeling sleepy too."

Upon hearing his admission, Claudia conceded reluctantly.

Glancing at her watch, she remarked, "We still have twenty minutes."

It was evident she couldn't hold on much Longer.

Bennett carefully laid her on the bed, and within thirty minutes, Claudia drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Indeed, she was sleepy.

Bennett ensured Claudia was comfortably tucked in and sat by her side for a while. Only at midnight did he gently bow his head to plant a grateful kiss on her forehead, whispering, "Thank you, honey."

Ensuring Claudia was comfortable and well-covered, Bennett switched off the light, leaving only a soft glow of night Light, and returned to the guest room.

The guest room still had a warm glow from numerous lit candles, with scattered plates in the middle.

Rarely one for photographs, Bennett took out his phone, capturing several images of the scene. He then photographed the bunch of roses with the same unhurried grace. Satisfied with the results, he sent the photos to his friends.

As the hour for bedtime approached, a sudden revelation about Bennett left everyone in astonishment.

Breck, the first to see the photos, exclaimed, "What? Are these the flowers for your wife? Is that all?"

Duncan remarked, "She's being a bit stingy."

Grover inquired, "This gift is from your wife?"
