Chapter: 1325
Bennett responded, "Yes, it's a gift from my wife."
Breck was left speechless. Duncan and Grover, too, were at a loss for words.
Then, Breck retorted, “It's not particularly captivating to share this with us at such a late hour."
Duncan added, "It's rather dull to hear about it now."
Grover couldn't agree more, saying, “It's pretty blah."
Content with their reactions, Bennett concluded the conversation. As he was about to log out, his finger paused.
Ultimately, he opened Facebook and posted the recently captured photos of the roses, stating, "Received roses for the first time."
Having posted the photos, Bennett took the gift that Claudia had stopped him from unwrapping earlier, meticulously untied the gift bow, unwrapped the beautifully adorned package with patience, and unveiled the content.
Upon opening the gift box, Bennett found a photo frame inside.
Taking out the photo frame, he was pleasantly surprised.
Within the frame, a watercolor painting captured his attention. It depicted the scene of himself immersed in reading on the sofa during the weekend.
Claudia's signature adorned the bottom of the painting, adding a personal touch to the heartfelt gift.
Clearly, Claudia was the artist behind this exquisite creation.
This was a new kind of gift for Bennett. Claudia's talent in painting, especially in a relaxed watercolor style, brought out a sense of grace and elegance in him.
Bennett stored the painting, wrapping it with care, and then indulged in the remaining cake on the table.
While typically not a fan of desserts, anything baked by Claudia was an exception-he could savor it all.
As much as Bennett wished to preserve everything in the room, he knew it was an unattainable wish.
He lingered in the room for over half an hour, capturing numerous photographs. Eventually, he returned to the master bedroom, carrying the flowers and gifts.
Claudia, lying in the bed, had succumbed to sleep. Bennett slipped in from the opposite side of the quilt, maintaining a distance until the warmth enveloped him. Gradually, he extended his arms, embracing her tenderly.
He loved her deeply.
When Claudia woke on the second day, Bennett had already hit the road for the company.
Her recollection of the previous night was a blurred puzzle, a mosaic of fragmented moments. She couldn't pinpoint when she slept.
Typically hitting the hay by ten, last night, she stretched until almost midnight, only to succumb to slumber.
This left her slightly irked.
