Chapter: 167
Upon reaching the piano room, Claudia found a message from Bennett.
“How Long do you plan to stay at your home? We seem to be the media's favorite lately."
Perhaps Bennett thought his initial message was too brusque, and felt compelled to add another.
Claudia exhaled, relieved. Upon reading the initial message, it almost felt like Bennett was an annoyed spouse upset at his wife's decision to visit her parents' home for an extended stay.
Luckily, that was only her imagination at play.
After contemplating for a bit, Claudia picked her phone back up and responded, "I'll move into your place on Saturday. Does that work?"
"Morning or afternoon?"
Afternoon?”
When Bennett didn't respond after a while, Claudia had second thoughts.
“Saturday morning sounds fine."
“I'LL come by at nine!" Why so early, she wondered.
“Well...
Not wanting to disrupt his work, Claudia halted the conversation. "Go back to your work. Call me if you need anything."
» Sure."
Contrary to her assumptions, Bennett didn't seem busy at all. He kept up the chat, asking, “How's your leg?"
“I'm good. The cast is off. I've been cleared to walk with my crutch.” With the image of her wielding the crutch coming to mind, Claudia blushed once again.
Before Bennett could respond, Claudia quickly ended the conversation.
“I have to practice piano now. Bye."
"Bye." Claudia heaved a sigh of relief.
Was Bennett really this free?
Bennett was far from idle. During the latter half of the meeting, his focus remained Largely on his phone.
Initially, his behavior caught those present off guard, but as Bennett continued to check his phone repeatedly, they gradually became accustomed to it.
The speaker felt rather fortunate that Bennett was engrossed in his phone, hoping it would prevent any harsh criticism from him that day. His hopes, however, proved to be wishful thinking.
As soon as the presentation concluded, Bennett shut the file in front of him.
