Chapter: 18
Claudia responded, voice light. "Just browsing Facebook."
Childhood friends for twelve years, Claudia and Anthony had a long List of mutual Facebook friends. Their real life social circles were even more overlapping.
Anthony buying a ring for Delilah was the talk of Facebook. Many there felt empathy for Claudia.
Of course, there were also those who seized this chance to jab at Claudia.
Delilah's friends plastered the photo of Delilah and Anthony on their Facebook, claiming Delilah to be the worthy recipient of Anthony's affections.
Claudia chuckled at how ridiculous they had been. Spotting the Facebook posts by Delilah's friends, Aurora was livid. "The audacity of them!"
Oddly, Claudia felt no heartache. She even hit the 'Like' button on their Facebook posts.
Claudia then wheeled herself back into her room, positioning the marriage certificate on the vanity table, and snapping a photo.
With crucial details blurred out, she shared the picture on her Facebook with the caption-"I'm married."
Initially, Aurora was cursing under her breath as she skimmed through her Facebook feed. Out of the blue, her phone chimed. It was a Facebook alert from Claudia.
Caught off guard, she questioned, "Cece, what on earth did you share on Facebook?"
Claudia was lost for words, unable to articulate her thoughts well.
“Just take a look for yourself.”
As soon as Aurora hit refresh on her feed, Claudia's Facebook profile came up.
Upon spotting the marriage certificate, she presumed that Claudia and Anthony had tied the knot. However, seeing the groom's name clearly left her utterly speechless! “Is this a dream?"
Hearing Aurora's dramatic reaction, Claudia blushed, responding, "It's the real deal, Aurora."
Regaining her composure, Aurora erupted into fits of Laughter. “Well done, Cece! Bennett's definitely a step up from Anthony! Can't wait to see Delilah's face when she finds out! Ha-ha-ha! You managed to keep such a bombshell from me, sister! I'm astounded!"
At first, Claudia had been apprehensive about Aurora's reaction, thinking she'd be upset about the matter. But, Aurora's praise took her by surprise.
Feeling a weight Lift off her shoulders, she stammered, "I... I'm taken aback myself!"
How Bennett had agreed to this absurd proposition was still beyond Claudia's comprehension.
Aurora was too exhilarated to pay much attention to Claudia's bafflement. "Sweetie, can we take this news public? How about I tweet about it?"
Aurora had been seething over the negative comments about Claudia and wanted to turn the tables.
