Chapter: 196
What were his intentions?
“You needed my embrace."
When did she express that desire?
What was going on now?!
Claudia blinked, returning, “You've got it all wrong. I didn't need your embrace."
She nudged him away.
A glance from Bennett, and then he stated, "You claim to be cold, but refuse the coat. If my arms aren't the solution, then what is?"
“I was merely irritated."
A common scenario for couples.
"Didn't you deny being angry earlier?”
Claudia was left speechless, realizing her own blunder.
“Are you still upset?"
Fixing her gaze on him, Claudia replied, each word Laced with emotion, “I'm even angrier now!"
After a long pause, Bennett reached out, tousling her hair.
“Alright, don't be mad. Either accept my coat or my embrace.”
His previously icy demeanor now was as soothing and warm as a thawing snow-capped peak, comforting and inviting.
The raging tempest within Claudia subsided.
Her ears tinged with embarrassment. She grabbed the coat, stating, “I'LL wear it now."
“Sure.”
Gazing at her flushed ears, Bennett exerted self-restraint. Desire surged within him, threatening to overpower his self-control.
He averted his gaze, yet the delightful scent of Claudia lingered in his embrace.
Bennett closed his eyes to conceal his emotions and breathed in the lingering fragrance, making every effort to suppress his desire.
Gazing out the car window, Claudia didn't utter a word throughout the journey.
Soon enough, they arrived outside the grand villa of the Marshall family.
