Chapter: 316
“There's little to no difference. That's no surprise. After all, I'm already getting old. Don't worry about me, though. I'll be fine. Go ahead with what you were doing. Remember to visit me with Bennett when you have time on your hands, okay?"

"Okay, Dad! Take care of yourself. Remember to eat your vegetables and go for walks occasionally. I love you. You should hang up first."

Jace chuckled, “I see. I'll hang up.”

“Bye, my angel.”

This short call was enough for Jace to figure out that his daughter was living a good, happy Life. She sounded livelier now that she was married to Bennett.

Finally, his mind was at rest.

There was relief on both ends. While Jace was pleased to learn that his precious daughter was doing okay, Claudia was relieved that she didn't have to worry about her lie being exposed now.

Once Claudia got off the phone, her mind went to the marriage agreement again. She opened the drawer of the dresser, took out the document, and read it all over again.

There was something strange about this agreement.

Just as she was about to ponder on it, she decided against it. She had already signed it, so what was the point?

Claudia yawned. She was so sleepy that she put the agreement away, changed into a set of pajamas, and proceeded to take a nap.

The online quarrel between Claudia and Patty remained the topic of discussion. Bennett was now in the picture. Usually, his friends weren't fans of entertainment gossip. But this time, they stumbled on the gossip on Twitter.

Bennett had just finished his last work task for the day when the screen of his phone Lit up.

A message had just dropped in the friends’ group chat. He picked up the phone and saw that someone mentioned him.

The message from Duncan read, “@Bennett, since when did you become such a flirt? How could you change so fast, man!" His message was accompanied by two screenshots.

Breck echoed, or something?"

Dude, were you drunk and accidentally Liked that comment

“Guys, I don't think he's drunk. His true colors have been revealed. His gentility was all a lie!" Grover texted.

Leaning back in his chair, Bennett tut-tutted and replied, "You guys are not married, so you won't understand."

It was Saturday, so they were free.

The guys practically launched an attack on Bennett as soon as he sent that message. It was just banter, but they berated him in the process. Breck texted, “Spoken like a true flirt!

I had no idea that a man could magically change into a flirt after getting married. I learned something new today."

Grover and Duncan didn't hesitate to air their views on this in the most ridiculing way possible.

Bennett glanced at the messages and didn't bother to reply.
