Chapter: 317
He waved their statements as just pure jealousy.

He was smiling so hard that his jaw hurt. It was fun to see them get all riled up. Ha-ha!

Claudia slept as if she had taken sleeping pills. It was about six o'clock when she woke up, so it was already dark outside.

Her room was pitch black when she opened her eyes.

She wondered if it was already late at night.

Carefully, she felt the nightstand for her phone and tapped the screen. When she saw the time, she breathed a sigh of relief.

She hadn't missed dinner.

The second she breathed a sigh of relief, someone knocked on the door.

“Wake up! Dinner is ready."

Bennett's low male voice came from outside. Embarrassed, Claudia answered, "Will be down in a minute."

She patted her face and glanced at it in the mirror. Then, she changed her clothes in a hurry.

When she opened the door, she met Bennett standing on the other side. She drew a hard breath.

Wasn't he supposed to be downstairs?

Claudia hadn't expected him to be here. As a result, she bumped into him. The crown of her head hit his hard chin.

Ouch!

She gasped subconsciously.

It hurt like hell, but not for too long. The pain disappeared as quickly as it came.

“I'm sorry. I thought you had gone downstairs.”

“Does it hurt?"

With one hand cupping the back of her head, Bennett lowered his head and rubbed the spot his chin had hit with his thumb.

Realizing that she was nearly being held in his arms, Claudia's ears turned red.

Time seemed to slow down. At least, until Marcia showed up and froze at the sight of them being so close. She cleared her throat before saying politely, “Dinner is served, Mr. and Mrs. Dreskin." Hearing that, Claudia jumped back as if she had just come in contact with a plague.

Even more surprised by this, Marcia glanced at Bennett, only to find that he didn't seem to mind Claudia's reaction. He just turned to her and frowned. This indicated that he was displeased with her showing up here at that moment.

Marcia's heart skipped a beat. She made up an excuse and hurried downstairs. It's not what you think, Marcia! Claudia grimaced, biting her Lip.
