Chapter: 326
Why was he offering her the Last piece? Did she look like a glutton? "Got it."
He looked at her, his thin lips moving slightly as he replied lightly. His attitude made Claudia feel Like she had reacted too harshly.
With a softer expression, she said, "I'll leave it to you then."
"Do you."
Sensing some reservations in his Last words, Claudia got even more scared that he would ask again. She spun around and left hurriedly.
Bennett chuckled at how fast she ran away.
Claudia Locked the door as soon as she got into her room. She held her warm cheeks with both hands. Did she wolf down the food so much that she gave Bennett the impression that she wanted more? Oh, God!
Claudia was fanning her face with her slender fingers when she noticed something flashing on her nightstand. It was her phone. She picked it up, only to see that Aurora had been bombarding her with messages.
"What? You mean to tell me that the alleged thief was actually your husband who just returned from a business trip? What kind of a wife are you, Claudia? How could you not know that your husband was on his way home?"
“Anyway, just explain it to the police! I take half of the blame. I shouldn't have acted too rashly."
The next set of messages read, "Girl, where are you? Come back online, will y:
Her last message read, "I get it now. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, so I'll head out now. BYE!"
She then sent a “where are you" gif.
Claudia felt her cheeks burning even more. Shaking her head at her friend's teasing, she replied, "Girl, stop being so dramatic. I was only having a late-night snack!"
“I don't want to hear it, Cece. It's way past my bedtime. Goodnight!" Aurora responded quickly.
Claudia's fingers hovered above the keyboard.
Why was Aurora being so extra tonight? Couldn't she just hear her out? Claudia didn't fall asleep until it was past one o'clock. Perhaps she wasn't at rest because her stomach was full. Worse, she even had a strange dream.
She dreamed that she and Bennett were having shrimp dumplings. When they were down to the last dumpling, she put down her fork, leaving it to him.
Much to her surprise, Bennett picked it up and brought it to her mouth while smiling at her. She smiled back and ate it with relish.
The beginning of the dream wasn't what made it absurd; the latter part was worse!
As soon as she finished chewing and swallowing, Bennett asked her, “Is it delicious?"
Claudia Looked at him in confusion. He had eaten the shrimp dumplings, so he should know what they tasted Like. Nonetheless, she nodded and replied affirmatively.
The next second, Bennett wore a smug grin and said, "Really? Let me have a taste."
He shot to his feet and leaned over the table.
