Chapter: 325
Dayum! Bennett was hella hot now. The chest area of his bathrobe was slightly open.
Before her eyes could wander again, Claudia stared him in the eye and asked, “Can I help you?"
“Do you care for a midnight snack?"
“Nah, I'm not hungry. You should: A low rumble from her stomach suddenly interrupted her. The words she was about to say got stuck in her throat.
Bennett's eyes soon traveled to her stomach. A smug smile tugged at the corners of his Lips.
“Something seems to say otherwise," he quipped. "Well, come have some with me."
"0... Okay."
Noticing that Claudia was in a bathrobe and her hair was tied up in a bun, Bennett said with a smile, "Go ahead and take your shower. I'1l go whip up something for us."
Claudia nodded. She waited for him to leave before shutting the door. Clutching her stomach, she spent the next minute wallowing in shame Then, she took her pajamas and went into the bathroom.
An hour later, Claudia polished off a bowl of soup and two big shrimp dumplings. For someone who had denied being hungry, that was a lot.
There was only one dumpling left on the plate on the table before her and Bennett now. She stared at it and licked her lips, fighting back the urge to pick it up and shove it into her mouth
Bennett glanced at her and asked, “Are you full?”
Claudia blushed. His tone was plain but she felt embarrassed because of what happened before.
“Yeah, I am."
“Okay.”
Bennett said nothing more to that.
Claudia covered her mouth as a yawn threatened to escape. She was feeling sleepy now.
“Thanks for the food. I'11 go to my room to sleep.”
“Okay, go ahead.”
“Good night, Bennett."
“Good night."
Claudia came to her feet. After taking a few steps, she heard him say, “What am I to do with the last dumpling? Don't you want it?"
His words made her miss a step. She held the shelf nearby to regain her balance.
Slowly, she came around and said to him seriously, “Why would I want it? I'm full already!"
