Chapter: 342
Zaria frowned and asked, "What exactly do you like about Bennett? What made you fall for him when there are many handsome and nicer men around?”
“Since when did love need a reason? It's blind, remember?"
“If you say so..."
Zaria sighed, not bothering to dwell on the topic. She went back to asking irrelevant questions.
“What are your favorite outdoor sports?”
Hell, there was definitely something wrong with this woman! Claudia reasoned, giving her a side-eye. "It seems you called me out here just to waste my time. Since you have nothing important to say, I'll take my leave now."
Unexpectedly, Zaria didn't put up a fight. She just did a jaunty little wave and said, "Okay, let's do this some other time.”
Humph! What makes you think there will be another time? Stop being delusional! Claudia thought.
Claudia smelled something fishy. This just wasn't right. On the Richter scale of love rivalry, those who acted all calm were usually psychopathic than most. It appeared that Zaria wanted to get close to Bennett by making Claudia's acquaintance first.
Wow!
Claudia was mind blown. Before now, she thought Zaria was one of those whose desires blinded them and made them less scheming. She was quite surprised to learn that Zaria was actually the Einstein of schemes.
Afraid that she would be cornered into revealing the unique dynamics of her marriage, Claudia stood up abruptly and got ready to leave.
She had only taken two steps when Zaria called out from behind, “Not so fast, Claudia!"
Claudia's patience was running out. After rolling her eyes up to the sky, she turned around slowly and stared at her expressionlessly.
“Bennett is already taken, Zaria. You are a beautiful woman and you come from a well-respected family. I'm sure many men would love to wife you. Give them a chance, okay?"
“Hmm. You have a point." Zaria stood up and walked towards the swimming pool behind her. Something occurred to Claudia as she stared at her. She chuckled, "Do you really think that your clumsy trick will work? Is that all you could come up with?"
The distance between them was only about four meters. If Zaria threw herself into the water now, anyone who found Claudia standing so far away wouldn't think that she was pushed Zaria, wouldn't they?
Holding the hem of her dress, Zaria swayed and asked with a sinister smile, "Can you swim?"
That was a rhetorical question. She chuckled and placed one hand on her chest.
“I, for one, don't know how to swim. There's no one else here. If I fall into the pool, will you leave me to drown?"
Zaria was going to play the victim!
Before Claudia could blink, she heard a plop, and then came a big splash.
What in the world!
Zaria really jumped into the pool!
