Chapter: 343
Claudia looked around and found nobody.
Zaria began throwing her hands and crying for help. In a matter of seconds, the splashes reduced and so did the occasional sticking up of her head above the water.
Claudia felt defeated.
This rogue got her real good tonight.
Claudia didn't have the heart to watch her die.
After rushing to the pool deck, she knocked off her shoes and yanked off the necklace. She carefully put the necklace under her shoes and then jumped into the pool.
Claudia was a good swimmer. As soon as she got in, she realized the pool wasn't that deep. She stood firm and pulled Zaria up with as much strength as she could muster.
Like an octopus, Zaria wrapped her Limbs around Claudia as if her life depended on it. Humph! Did she forget that she got herself into the mess?
Saving a person from drowning was by far the most dangerous thing to do. Claudia knew this, and so, she got worried. Although she was a good swimmer, she wasn't that strong. She lost her balance and fell back into the water as soon as Zaria clung to her.
Fortunately, she could reach out to hold the deck. She soon regained her foothold.
“Stop pulling me down! The pool is only 1.2 meters deep. You are a grown woman, so you should be able to keep your head above the water. Why have you refused to stand up straight? Do you wanna die?"
It seemed this roar knocked some senses into Zaria's head as her grip loosened instantly.
Claudia held onto the deck as much as she could. Gritting her teeth, she used her free hand to pull Zaria to the deck.
“Hang on!"
With that, she Let go and climbed out of the pool backward.
She turned around with the intention of pulling Zaria out. Suddenly, a bloodcurdling scream pierced the air in the garden.
Claudia was stunned, to say the least.
What the hell!
Why would she suddenly scream?!
The woman's high-pitched scream soon drew the attention of those in the banquet hall. As soon as Claudia pulled Zaria out of the pool, a crowd flocked behind them.
"I saw it! I saw her push Zaria into the swimming pool!" Really? Zaria even bribed someone to Lie against Claudia? Was that how low she could go?
Heat ignited through Claudia's veins. She instantly regretted jumping in the pool to save Zaria. After all, this cohort would have stepped in if she had just walked away.
Claudia had a straight face as she walked to her shoes and picked up her necklace.
She couldn't afford to lose it even though she was being set up now. After securing the necklace and picking up her shoes, she was about to go find Bennett to fight for her. Jolie led the crowd which surrounded her in no time.
