Chapter: 349
As she spoke, Claudia gestured at her own head.

Who in their right mind would behave so bizarrely?

Bennett cast a quick look at Claudia and commented, “She can be a little crazy at times. Don't pay her any mind."

“Oh, alright."

Impulsiveness got the better of her this time.

Silence filled the car. Claudia stared out the window, strands of hair still damp against her scalp.

The car's air conditioning was running, and Claudia's semi-wet hair made her feel chilly.

Instinctively, she crossed her arms over her chest. Bennett, who had been resting with his eyes closed beside her, lazily opened them to observe her. "Feeling cold?"

Upon hearing Bennett's query, the driver Allan respectfully chimed in, “Mrs. Dreskin, is the AC too chilly? I can increase the temperature.”

Then Allan raised the AC temperature by a couple of degrees.

As soon as Allan retracted his hand, Bennett's voice echoed from the back seat. "Turn off the AC and lower the window."

Claudia blinked in surprise and said, "You don't have to turn it off. It's not that cold. A slight temperature increase will do."

It was scorching outside. Turning off the AC would make the car unbearably hot.

Bennett remained silent, merely taking her hand in his and asking, “Are you sure you're not cold?"

Compared to the comforting warmth of Bennett's palm, Claudia‘s hand was cold.

Caught off guard, she admitted, "My hands are always this cold." Bennett spared her a glance but didn't instruct the driver to turn the AC back on.

The window slowly descended, letting in a gust of warm summer night air.

She looked down at her hand, which had been held by Bennett a moment ago, her ears flushing red.

She couldn't deny that Bennett was remarkably considerate. She was touched by these small gestures.

Sadly, their relationship was all pretense, not reality.

Claudia sighed wistfully, her gaze drifting out the window

Catching herself Lost in thought, she gave her thigh a quick pinch. She realized that she needed to stop dreaming.

She did not deserve a man like Bennett!

What was she thinking?
