Chapter: 37
Anthony had never felt such an intense humiliation before. He turned towards Claudia and inquired, “If I get on my knees, Cece, will you forgive me?"

“Whether I forgive you or not is my decision. Similarly, the choice to apologize is yours."

Claudia's words brought an ominous gloom over Rachel's face. As she attempted to speak, Henry stilled her.

Rachel had hopes of making Claudia their daughter-in-law, but they weren't confined to her. Linmarsh was filled with prospective brides.

Claudia was not their only option.

“Do you really want me to kneel down?" Anthony asked again.

Claudia found the question amusing. "Have you forgotten your proclamation from last night?"

Anthony's face stiffened. He had indeed claimed that he'd kneel down and beg for Claudia's forgiveness, but it was just exaggerating. He never thought she'd take it Literally.

With no alternatives Left, Anthony had to bow and plead.

Taking a step back, he declared, "Alright, I will apologize properly.”

Each word was uttered through clenched teeth.

Claudia watched him, making no effort to intervene.

She sat calmly, patiently awaiting Anthony's act of penitence.

The room lapsed into an uncomfortable silence. After a while of stalemate, Anthony started to move.

However, just as he was about to get on his knees, a woman's voice erupted. "Stop! Anthony!"

Tears streaming down her face, Delilah shoved Anthony aside and prostrated before Claudia. "The apology should come from me. Anthony fled his own wedding to rescue me. The blame is mine, Cece. Punish me as you see fit.

I'm so sorry! Please forgive me. If you are still angry, I can do whatever you ask for!"

She sobbed Loudly as she apologized.

Watching this, Anthony stretched his hand and tried to pull Delilah away. “Stand up, Delilah. This isn't necessary!"

But Delilah brushed him off. “Anthony, let me be! As long as Cece finds peace, I will go to any length!"

Unable to dissuade her, Anthony turned towards Claudia and asked, "What do you really want from me, Cece?"

Claudia eyed him and queried, “Are you feeling sorry for her?"
