Claudia shuddered and replied, "I'm scared that you will get mad." Bennett's eyes instantly narrowed to slits. Through clenched teeth, he asked, “You are scared that I would get mad and decide to deal with Anthony?"

“No, that's not it!" Claudia blurted. "I'm afraid that you will take your anger out on me."

Not again! She bit her Lower lip hard as soon as she finished speaking. She regretted saying so much

Claudia couldn't fathom why she was always speaking her mind in Bennett's presence. Was it because of the way he looked at her? Why was she slipping up too much?

The atmosphere became awkward again.

Lowering her head, Claudia subconsciously scratched the sofa she was seated on.

It was made with fine leather. As if it was mad at her for putting her hands on it, the sofa instantly protested.

The raspy sound that pierced the air made the atmosphere a lot more awkward.

“I... I'm so sorry.. After wincing with embarrassment, Claudia Looked down at the scratch she just made. It wasn't a pleasant sight at all. She asked, “Is this sofa expensive."

As Bennett watched color creep to her ears, he did a dismissive wave and replied, "Nah, it's not. Just costs about three million."

About three million? That was a lot of money!

Claudia's shoulders fell. Her eyes became a little misty.

“I damaged the leather. Can I pay for it in installments?"

At Claudia's words, an eruption of Laughter poured from Bennett. His chuckling was rich and full-bodied, causing Claudia to blush.

Her head drooped, as if she wished the ground would swallow her whole. When his amusement finally subsided, Bennett asserted, "There's no need for you to compensate."

She scratched the sofa!
