Chapter: 379
Claudia didn't even bother to glance at Anthony and his entourage, standing with an air of relaxation. No matter what, she had to maintain the act!
As she was mentally preparing for the possibility of Bennett not showing up, a voice called out, “Another Luxury vehicle, a Maybach
Claudia instinctively Looked up, her eyes meeting the sight of a man strolling towards her, a black umbrella sheltering him from the pouring rain.
For a moment, Claudia felt as though everything else had faded into the background, and only Bennett was in focus.
What a handsome man he was!
Before Bennett could reach her, Claudia had already pushed through the crowd.
She practically Lunged into Bennett's waiting arms. With the umbrella in one hand, Bennett encircled her with the other. "You're soaked."
Breathing in his familiar woody scent, Claudia boldly met his eyes.
“It's fine. I just want to get home early."
His grip around her waist tightened.
Despite knowing she was acting, he found himself hopelessly drawn into this romantic scene.
Bennett embraced her, turned and strolled into the rain with Claudia. Together, they made their way towards the Maybach.
Without uttering a word, Claudia's and Bennett's actions spoke volumes. Claudia was the victor.
The sudden appearance of Bennett shattered Anthony's daydreaming.
This, understandably, came as a shock to Amya and Kristy.
In fact, Kristy was not thrilled that Anthony decided to stay. She was under the impression that Claudia was merely putting on a brave face and that Anthony's continued presence was harmless, expecting Claudia to embarrass herself.
But then, to everyone's surprise, Bennett showed up.
Each of them carried different thoughts, while Aurora exuded a sense of triumphant satisfaction.
She was about to make a sarcastic remark when a suited young man carrying an umbrella addressed her.
“Excuse me, are you Mrs. Dreskin's friend, Miss Aurora Haywood?"
She paused, surprised, before replying, "Yes, that would be me. What seems to be the matter?"
“I'm Mr. Dreskin's secretary, Jackson Ellis. Mr. Dreskin has requested me to offer you a ride home. It's a stormy evening, and hailing a cab might prove challenging.”
His voice was calm and audible enough for Kristy and the rest to overhear.
Aurora's smugness intensified. She taunted Amya, “It's pouring out here. I'LL be Leaving now. Stay put until someone comes for you!"
