Chapter: 397
Bennett arched an eyebrow and scoffed, “How do we pretend to be more loving?"

“By interlocking our fingers!" As Claudia uttered the words, she gently pulled away from his grasp. signaling him to release her first.

Bennett played along perfectly. He loosened his hold, allowing her fingers to weave between his, one by one. Then he tightened his grip, their palms pressed together.

His dark eyes fell to their entwined hands, and Bennett's Lips curled into a smile. "So this is how it's done."

Hearing his reflective comment, Claudia couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for him in her heart.

How pitiful! He doesn't even know this! She thought.

He must have never been in love before!

As Mathews observed Bennett and Claudia as they strolled away, hands entwined, his mood turned somber.

Noticing that Mathews remained still, Miguel grew anxious.

“What are you waiting for? Aren't you worried about being recognized?" Upon hearing this, Mathews broke his gaze and left with his agent.

He kept silent, his face clearly showing his irritation.

Miguel's brow furrowed in confusion.

What had gotten into the young man?

Claudia, engrossed in her act, didn't even notice she was really holding Bennett's hand until they stepped into the elevator!

Their hands were clasped tightly, fingers Laced together.

Suddenly realizing this, her cheeks flushed. "Mr. Dreskin, is the person you know in the elevator?"

Bennett looked at her and answered simply, "No."

With that, he Let go of her hand.

As he released his grasp, Claudia's clammy palm felt a cool relief. She glanced at her right hand, filled with an inexplicable emotion. When the elevator reached the first floor, most of the passengers had already departed, Leaving it fairly empty.

Claudia edged to the side, making sure not to stand too close to Bennett.

It wasn't that she disliked or wanted to avoid Bennett, but rather she feared that being too close might lead to him disliking her.

Catching her movement, Bennett looked her way.

Feeling awkward, Claudia remarked, “It's a bit warm."

She truly didn't mean to avoid him.
