Chapter: 398
“Alright," he replied nonchalantly.
When the elevator doors opened again, Claudia let out a relieved breath.
She climbed into the car and buckled her seatbelt diligently.
At that moment, Bennett's phone began to ring.
His brow furrowed, and he answered the call.
“What is it?"
Breck's voice came through, inviting, “How about dinner together? Didn't you tell me to call you?"
“I'm busy."
Breck's annoyance turned to laughter and said, “What exactly are you up to?"
“Let's enjoy some afternoon tea.”
“Alright, I'll call Duncan and the others,” Breck replied, wondering since when was Bennett into afternoon tea.
“Sounds good."
Once the call ended, Bennett turned to Claudia, informing her, "Breck wants us to join them for afternoon tea."
Was that the right thing to do?
Just as Claudia was about to voice this concern, Bennett went on, "He doubts that we're actually married. He thinks we're just putting on a show for them."
His words sparked Claudia's determination.
“No worries. Let's go!"
“Aren't you tired?"
“I'm fine. Not that tired actually.”
No sooner had Claudia spoken these words than she let out a yawn. Claudia was helpless.
She couldn't help but feel a touch of embarrassment.
Yet Bennett seemed unconcerned, suggesting, “Let's just stop by, enjoy some tea, and then we'll head home."
"Okay!"
“Remember, don't worry about what they say. They're not known for their tact."
